What Makes Us Different

Proud Sponsor of Center Line High School band Boosters
Adam Robert, Six String School Founder

Hi, I'm Adam

I founded Six String School to establish a singular culture:

Relentlessly Positive Music Instruction

What started in 2021 as a single-teaching room has grown into something special - a multi-instructor studio that brings people together with music.

Having spent over 30 years performing, and experiencing first-hand what traditional music schools offer, I noticed something was missing in music education. Too many students, whether they were kids or adults, felt intimidated by formal instruction or discouraged by rigid teaching methods. I created Six String School to be different, to offer professional instruction in a way that feels welcoming and encouraging.

Today, I'm proud to see our studio filled with students from age 8 to 70+, each on their own unique musical journey. While we've grown and welcomed more teachers to our team, our mission hasn't changed:

Relentlessly Positive Music Instruction for everyone

How We Build Musicians

01

The Right Foundation

We start by understanding what makes each student tick—their musical tastes, learning style, and ultimate goals shape everything we do.

02

Clear Path Forward

No guesswork or confusion. We map out a clear journey from first notes to playing the music you love.

03

Small Wins, Big Progress

Our methods build complex skills with achievable steps, building confidence alongside capability.

04

Constant Growth

Regular check-ins ensure students are always moving forward, with adjustments that keep learning effective and engaging.

05

Beyond the Lesson Room

We create opportunities for students to grow as musicians through performances with our semi-annual Student Showcase.

The
Six String School
Experience

Adam is amazing! My nephew is 14 and has some social difficulties but he has absolutely LOVED taking guitar lessons with Adam. He is patient, knowledgeable and fun. He pushes my nephew to do his best but does it in a fun way and gives him opportunities to share what he likes and learn the songs that interest him most. I would recommend him to anyone!
